TSV General Member

$25 adult individual (over 18 years old) per financial year, with following benefits:

  • Tamu style Syai-syai
  • Hardship support $500, and additional fundraising within TSV community if necessary
  • Priority and discounts in TSV programs and events
  • Academic achievement facilitation – VCE graduates $50 gift voucher, and Bachelor/Masters/PhD graduates certificate
  • Business/Entrepreneurship support – discounted sponsorship fee, and priority advertisement/promotion within TSV community
  • Sense of belonging to Tamu community
  • Opportunities to contribute to preserve Tamu identity and culture in Victoria
  • TSV support network in need such as COVID food relief, Mental health session, career and mentoring information, emergency relief, etc
  • Voting and election rights to be part of TSV committees to lead TSV community

TSV Life Member

Minimum $5,000 contribution per family towards TSV Cultural Centre fund. No need to pay $25 to maintain TSV General Membership. Following benefits:

  • TSV General Member benefits for a family (Husband and Wife or Partners, plus dependents)
  • Formally recognized/facilitated through appropriate means (i.e. Tamra Patra) by TSV community
  • Member of the TSV Cultural Centre management and operation board
  • Priority and discounts for using TSV Cultural Centre facilities
  • Support of TSV volunteers to the family after a member passes away and for funeral service (Arghu, memorial, etc). TSV support to organize Lamas (Monks, Gurus, etc) if required/requested
  • Funeral/memorial service support $2000, and additional fundraising within TSV community if necessary
  • A place for memory such as photo of deceased member at TSV Cultural Centre facility

TSV Patron

Minimum $10,000 contribution per family towards TSV Cultural Centre fund. No need to pay $25 to maintain TSV General Membership. Following benefits:

  • TSV General Member benefits for a family (Husband and Wife or Partners, plus dependents)
  • TSV Life Member benefits
  • ‘Patron’ is the highest honour in the TSV community. This respected and dignified position will be documented/mentioned in TSV publications/events
  • Serve as Patron for TSV Cultural Centre as well to provide strategic direction on management and operation
  • A larger place for memory such as statues/plaques/Asthu for deceased family member at TSV Cultural Centre facility

We are all known by surname “Gurung” which we inherited from our ancestors. No matter where go we should keep our surname, language, culture and tradition. Tamu Samaj Victoria is a registered not-for-profit community organization representing all Gurungs residing in Victoria, Australia.

Tamu Samaj Victoria aims to preserve and pass on our language, culture and tradition to next generations. Therefore Tamu Samaj Victoria organizes Lho-Chhar, Buddha Jayanti and Culture Day every year.

  • We must be proud of ourselves because we have opportunity to have a Samaj and are able to part of it although we are far away from our origin country Nepal.
  • As we are members of our community if there is any unfortunate things happens to a member there is some financial support. Moreover, there will be millions of worth of moral and emotional from the Samaj.
  • As a Tamu, a person will feel lucky to have an opportunity to contribute something for own Samaj.
  • To preserve and pass on our rich culture and traditions to next generations.
  • Paying a member fee, everyone will feel sense of belonging to the Samaj.

In order to run this community organization, it needs support and financial means from the community members. We think that

Therefore Tamu Samaj Victoria has asked every Tamu in Victoria to pay for Tamu Samaj Victoria annual membership so that Tamu Samaj Victoria will be able to

  • Manage any shortfalls in revenue to pay the expenses incurred.
  • Contribute to “member benefit” scheme where any Tamu member in need will receive financial support of up to $1500.
  • Contribute to long term Tamu Samaj Victoria projects such as building the TSV Cultural Centre in Victoria.

The Tamu Samaj Victoria’s annual membership fee is as follows:

  • Family$30.00
  • 18 years old$20.00
  • Student$10.00

Tamu Samaj Victoria also encourages members to take Life membership by paying the following fee:

  • Life Membership per Person$800.00
  • Life Membership per Family$1000.00

To obtain the Tamu Samaj Victoria’s membership, please fill up the form below and send it to info@tsv.org.au with payment receipt of the membership fee.

The membership payment fee can be transferred online to the following bank account.
